Is it really that difficult to succeed?

Is it really that difficult to succeed?

I was at lunch the other day with one of the girls that I work with and we were discussing what I was doing for my routine on my weight loss journey. I was telling her that I have done the P90X3 videos and recently have started adding in PiYo to my workouts as well. I do this everyday, no matter what. I also started counting my calories and making better choices with my nutrition. Then I said to her, "It has been really difficult". Then I stopped myself and thought for a second and said, "Actually I guess it really has not been that difficult". I just do those few steps everyday and I have been successful. On my way up the stairs I'm thinking to myself, you know what Carrie...this really has not been that rough of a road. Humm.

Over the weekend I have been reading a book called The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. The book is about turning simple disciplines into massive success & happiness. As I'm reading the book I was thinking about what I said to myself on the way up those stairs...it really was not that hard for me to be successful with  my weight loss when you look at the big picture. It all boils down to this...

"It's a matter of mastering the mundane-of repeating simple little disciplines that, done consistently over  time, will add up to the very biggest accomplishments"

I still have weight to loose and it is going to take me time. When I get on the scale in the morning I can sometimes get discouraged, but I just keep doing those simple steps...count my calories and do my exercise videos everyday, no matter what. It was at this time I realized in that moment going up the stairs that I already discovered the "Slight Edge" on my own. Now..it is up to me to be consistent and keep doing those simple disciplines daily!

Keep up the good work friends! Together we can do anything!

Have a great week!
Carrie
