I'm going to share a little story from tonight.....

I'm going to a dear friends wedding in a few weeks and I needed to get a dress. I went to the store tonight to shop. When I shop I think of going in the changing room and wanting to cry when I leave. I also never fit in anything and leave discouraged. 

Things are changing!

Tonight everything I put on fit. I'm in a size 14 and I have not seen that size since high school. My heart wants all of you that are discourage to reach your goals. My job as a Beachbody Coach is to help you see that you can do ANYTHING!

I did not think it was possible :( I really didn't. 

I made the decision to be a coach because I knew these products work! I am confident that ANYONE can do these programs and get results. 

I am putting together a TEAM. You may not think you can be a coach right now, but when you join our team, you do your program, you get results....you won't be able to help but share how amazing Beachbody is! 

There are so many opportunities!

1- You get in Shape
2 - You become healthier

TOAST? Are you serious? 

Well, if you have been following me, you know I have had some dietary issues from my workouts and eating. I'm finally, through research, discovering that I have been doing it all wrong.

Have I been eating healthy? Yes

Who else out there thinks, like me...CARBS ARE THE ENEMY?

Well, I'm find out that part of the reason I have been having issues is because my 
BODY IS STARVING FOR CARBS!!!

The absolute best time of day that you can eat carbs, know that you are fueling your body and eat carbs without guilt? RIGHT AFTER YOUR INTENSE WORKOUT

Part of the rule is you have to work out your hardest. You have to push you body as far as you possibly can...THEN

EAT CARBS :) Healthy carbs of course....

What are healthy carbs? If you are doing the 21 day fix, it is all the carbs on the list :)
-Steel cut oatmeal, not the packages
-100% Whole grain bread
-Sweet potatoes
-Quinoa 
-Peas
-Brown Rice

So, make sure you are eating a good dose of carbs after your workout in the morning or evening..you have plenty of choices. 

Up to an hour after your workout is the GOLDEN WINDOW!

You should be sure that you  have at least 45 - 60 carbs after a good workout!

So....now...EAT CARBS WITHOUT GUILT!

How do you deal with the Chaos? Do you sleep? Hide from the issues? Do you turn to food?


Sometimes you have to take a step back from your crazy life and take a break. Now that I workout a lot I certainly go to fitness to relieve tension. Did I go toward food at one point? Yup...sometimes I still want to, but I grab the healthy snacks and treats! I have had success, and I'm still working on my goals, but it's not always easy

 I am a mom of 4 kids and needless to say, there is a lot going on. I work full time and still find time to exercise and eat right. Yes...at times, like now...it is a struggle. I literally had to force myself this morning to do each and every move in my video. I got through it. I am taking a slight step back now  as there is a lot going on and I being healthy sometimes means to lay off the workouts a little bit!

I also am dealing with my Protein issue again..or is it lack of carbs? It is a bit scary. It is a combination of things....lack of protein, high energy workouts, not eating the carbs I'm supposed to eat and not taking rest days!

There is so much more to Health and Fitness than I ever imagined. Eating the right foods to fuel your body when you are working it hard everyday can be a challenge. I drink my Shakeology every day and I get 20g of protein right off the top. You realize when you are working out how important eat right is to maintain enough energy to keep yourself healthy!

So tonight, I did not do my second workout which is usually a 20 minute run or 20 Min cardio. Have to take care of myself and give my body a rest!

Everything is a balance.

 I need to work on balance! No matter where you are on your fitness journey, 
there is always something to work on

Did you take your measurements?

It is so important to take your measurements before you start a fitness program. You take them tuck them away and forget about them....until......

You start to see results!

When you start seeing or feeling results you will be so thankful you took those measurements. It is especially good to have them when you feel like you are noticing a change, but are not loosing weight. 

This happened to me. I felt a change and was very discouraged that the scale was not going down. I remeasured myself and BAM....inches lost!!! This actually was enough to keep my MOMENTUM going! 

At this moment I'm at a Plateau :( I know I'm getting stronger and I know I'm still working hard, but the scale is stuck. Looking at these measurements reminds me how far I have come and to
 KEEP GOING!

So get out your measuring tapes and get it done! 
You will be happy you did!

What made this time different? 

I'm not really sure why this time I have been consistent compared to other times in my life that I have tried to loose weight and be fit??

I think this time I gave myself a solid goal because I was fed up with being overweight. I was just sick of it. I was sick of listening to myself say...

I don't have time...
actually that was my biggest excuse of all!!!

This time around I MAKE TIME. That excuse is non-existent to me now. I have hit a point in my life where I realize that without exercise...I can't keep the weight off. 

I like to eat, who doesn't? After I started counting calories I realize how quick and easy it is for them to add up. I realize now that without burning a large chunk of calories off each day, you really can't eat that much. Even good foods add up quick. 

Exercise is a NECESSITY! You have to do it. 

You need Cardio, Resistance Training and Nutrition!
You need these three things to make your transformation happen. Without one of them, the others with struggle and you just won't get the results you are looking for. 

I can't really tell you how to do it..that is for you to discover, just remember that each morning you need to figure out when you are going to workout. Figure out what you have to do the next day and schedule your workout! If you do this, it will be come a habit and you will see results. I'm not going to tell you that you won't loose weight by diet alone, but I will tell you that with exercise you are more likely to be consistent because you are not so limited on calories. Make the workouts a priority!

You just gotta do it!

Big Thanks to Beachbody!!

So my husband, Billy, got a personal response today from Sagi Kalev from our Body Beast and The Master's Hammer & Chisel Beachbody Videos. 

It may sound silly, but to us, these people are our idols. Not to long ago I got a response from Jenelle Summers and it made my day! It just goes to show that these fitness idols care about us. They are real people and so are we! We workout hard with them everyday and to get a shout out is so exciting. 

The Beachbody Community is an amazing team to be part of! Surround yourself with people that love fitness and that is exactly what I'm doing as a Beachbody Coach. I hope that I can help others do the same and hopefully I can help inspire you to move in the right direction. 

It is funny, you don't realize how far you have come until you are chasing your 2 year old at a birthday part across the park and realize a year ago, I could not run. Now this little guy is fast...he is like a little mini running back and I have to actually sprint to catch him. 

Thank you to all the Beachbody Programs that I use daily for helping me to be a healthier mom that can actually run with her kids :)

Beachbody has changed my life and I'm never looking back!!!






HURT THE DAY AFTER A WORKOUT or NOT SO MUCH?
ARE YOU WORKING HARD ENOUGH?

Here is the deal. When you first start working it you might not be able to sit down without support, or walk without wanting to cry.
After you have been working out for a while, when you do a good workout you will feel it, just not as intensely. So trust me....there will be a day when you love that feeling the next day!
It shows you pushed yourself and makes you proud!

HERE IS WHY YOUR MUSCLES HURT!
When muscles are required to work harder and change your exercise routine, or increase the duration or intensity of your regular workout.than they're used to, or in a different way, it is believed to cause microscopic damage to the muscle fibres, resulting in muscle soreness or stiffness. 

The soreness you feel is part of your body adapting that leads to greater stamina and strength as the muscles recover and build. If you don't push yourself hard, you’re unlikely to be sore after your next exercise session.

So as I always say... 
If you are not sore...you are not working hard enough.

Push yourself and get results!

PATIENCE...
If you are anything like me...you don't want to wait when you get your mind set on something? Anyone there with me?

Well, this Fitness Journey has taught me Patience. It is one of the hardest things to accept and learn with weight loss. You have to realized when you are starting out that it is not going to happen over night. You have to be consistent and just keep going.
If you want REALLY WANT THIS... 
Decide to make a change and learn PATIENCE. Each and every pound and inch comes off slowly, but it keeps coming off. Trust me....I'm having this conversation with myself right this very moment. I'm telling myself...."Carrie....be patient..just keep going".

Trust my lead....everything I'm saying...I have done and I"m still doing! 
You can do this....JUST DECIDE!

Worked out like a MAMA BEAST this morning!

Upped all my weights on The Masters Hammer and Chisels - Chisel Cardio this morning.
 Last night was hard for me (I was dragging during my run), but this morning....dragging at first and then MAMA BEAST took over!

I WILL BEAT HER---- This quote says it all. As SAGI always says, you're in competition with yourself! Constantly try and beat your best! Strive to be better...not better than someone else, BETTER THAN YOU!

Today is such a busy day for me. No time for an extra workout this afternoon, but I know in my heart...I Nailed it this morning! Plan, plan, plan!

Remember!!!! Plan you workout. If you know you are going to be busy in the evening and not be able to workout....drag your butt out of bed in the morning!

Just remember.....NOBODY CAN STOP YOU!

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!!!

Sustainable weight loss is a complete lifestyle change, not a 12 week eating plan

Prepare your mind. Once you understand that loosing weight is a way of life and not just a way of eating and working out until the weight is off.....THEN is when you will finally be ready to make the change and start your journey. 

 I gave myself a year to reach my fitness goals. I knew in my head that I just had to keep going. I knew that even when I hit a plateau....I just keep going....

Now a year later I have lost 55 pounds. I still have 25 pounds to go and sometimes I still get discouraged, but you know what????

I KEEP GOING!

What you need to get started

What is the commitment for a 21 Day Fix Challenge Group? 

    Workouts are 30 minutes per day (7 days a week). 
    Take photos and measurements on Days 1 and 21.

    Equipment needs: Resistance bands or dumbbells 

The resistance bands and dumbells - You can pick these up at Walmart. Everyone is different, but I would recommend picking up 2-3 lb and 5 lb dumbells. This is what I did. As I got stronger I would get the next size up weights to add to your collection!
