Bump in the Road...

So it has been a little bit since I have posted. Yes, we all hit little bumps and snags on our fitness journey :) It is ok..we are human. It has been a busy couple of weeks for my family and keeping on track is not always a piece of cake!

Keeping the right foods in the house is so important. I did not do a normal shopping trip this week due to our busy schedule and not having the right foods to grab or eat for dinner did hit me on the scale :( I gained back about 4 lbs that I just can't seem to get back off. I just say to myself, Carrie it is normal and you can get it off. Just focus and it will be done. It is very hard when you gain a few lbs back not to get discouraged, but that just means it is time to step up your game. It means you need to prepare yourself with the healthy foods and options to be sure you are eating the right stuff.

Most important is to keep your workouts on track. I have been doing a 30 minute workout in the morning and in the evening, but this week I had a few days where I only did my 30 minute workout in the morning because of commitments we had in the evening or my Son's 16th Birthday Dinner :( my baby is growing so fast. So, I still tried to squeeze in at least my 30 minutes in the morning. If you can at least do a shorter video or part of your workout...do it! Anything will help when you are on a time crunch.

The holidays are coming and it is going to be hard for all of us to keep on target, so we need to FOCUS! Do the best you can with your eating so that when you have that Christmas party at work, or a family get together you know in your heart you did good all week, so a little celebrating is ok...you can get over that bump in the road. It is all BALANCE! We all deserve a little fun, especially this time of year!

So here is a video of me and my hubby doing the BURNOUT round at the end of our P90X3 CVX workout this week. Train hard and get awesome results! Billy was really pushing it in this video with a 15 lb weight..Yikes!

Have an awesome weekend!

Let's do some P90X3 MMX

Ok, so I think by now you all know I'm a HUGE P90X3 fan. I cannot say enough good things about this video workout series. If you do these videos you WILL get in shape. Did you say 30 Minutes a day? YUP...that is what they say and it is for real. If you decide to make that first step and purchase these videos, you will NOT be disappointed.

I have done so many different video programs over the years and never have I seen these results. Now just remember...don't be afraid that you can't do it. YOU CAN. Just modify each of the moves to what you can do and press "Pause" if you need a break. The trick is to get through the video no matter what. Don't stop when you are tired, Stop when you are DONE!

You can do it!
Check out this video of me doing one of the moves in MMX.

Let's do this!

 Believe

In order to succeed you must have a burning desire within yourself for something that you want so badly that it almost hurts.  Whatever it is that you want, you want it so intensely that the desire is burning inside of you. Sit back and think...what is between you and the goal that you desire so intensley? What is holding you back from achieveing this goal? You need to BELIEVE in yourself that you can do whatever it is that you set your mind to. It may not be easy, but if you just believe in yourself you can do anything. Start believing in you and you will Succeed!

Don't stop Dreaming!

How to get through FAIR SEASON???

Well, Fair Season is among us. How in the world do we go to a fair without blowing our diet? Well it is not easy, but you can do it and still have a little bit of fun. If you are going to the fair there is a good chance you are not going alone, right? I just went with my 4 kids, my mom and a few of the kids friends. Of course it is fun to walk around and look at all the food, but the one thing in your favor is you can't buy everything or you will go broke, so that helps. If you have kids with you there is also a good chance they are going to get something good to eat, right? Here is your chance to sample a few things without over indulging on your own. I guess a good thing about bring you kids is they won't let you eat a whole french fry on your own...hahah. My mom got a blooming onion and it disappeared right before her eyes. Suddenly the kids like onions! So another trick is to make sure your kids are with you when you eat :)

If you are going with friends and don't have kids, try as hard as you can to make the best choices possible, but chances are you have your favorite treats that you just have to get, right? Here is another option....share :) Just get a few things and share. Of course we all want to eat that whole fried dough, but if you eat the whole thing, you may not have room to have a few fried pickles or french fries. So see if someone you are with wants to share something fun to eat.

There is no way you are going to get through the fair without eating something noddy, so prepare for it. Drink your shakeology for breakfast so you are not starving when you get to the fair and plan something healty for dinner. Have a veggie stirfry for dinner to try and make up for your fair treats :)

Oh and don't forget...do you workout! Burn those calories before or after you go. Do a good cardio workout the day of the fair to be sure you get that metabolism rolling. You can do it!

Have fun at the fair..just be prepared :)

Happy Fall!!!!

Don't skip a day...just DO YOGA!

So it may be hard for you to imagine, if you have not yet started on your fitness journey, that missing a day is a thought that never crosses your mind once you get going. I personally never imagined feeling this way. I remember when I first started doing the P90X3 videos there were days that my body was so sore I had to skip a day, so I did.

At this I have been stepping it up a bit and doing PiYo in the morning before work and then when I get home from work I do my X3 video too. Needless to say it has been 4 weeks now and I am just sore. Last night after work it was time to do my video and I just felt my body was tight and sore. I'm not usually a YOGA girl, but I decided to put in that video. Oh my...a new world was opened to me :) This morning I feel amazing...my body feels rested and relaxed. I got up this morning and did my PiYo lower and feel great! Ready to start the day!

So when you are sore and want to skip a day...Just do YOGA!! It will make a world of difference!

Have a wonderful day!

Low Calorie Baked Apple Crisp

This recipe is low calorie and DELICIOUS! Everyone  in my family loved it! It did not make it through the night :)

10 Apples peeled, cored, sliced (I used Cortland)
2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
4 tsp lemon juice
1 1/2 cup Rolled Oats
1/2 C Flour
4 Tbsp brown sugar
4 Tbsp melted butter
4 tsp of ground cinnimon
1/2 tsp salt

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Place the apples evenly in the bottom of a 11 X 7 inch baking dished coated with cooking spray.

3. To complete the crisp, in a medium-sized bowl, combine the remaing ingredients and stir until the mixture resembles a course meal. Top the apples evenly with the oat mixture.

4. Bake the crisp at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until the apples are tender.

Enjoy this awesome low calorie dessert that the whole family will LOVE!!!

Hope you had a wonderful fall weekend!

House work? or Work out? That is the Question!!!!

How many of us have been stuck in this situation? All of us! That was part of my continuous excuse for not having time. I would come home from work and start cleaning...before you know it "Working out" was OUT of the question. I am not a neat freak, but I do like to have my house clean. As important as it is to have my house clean, it is more of a priority to me to complete my workout. If the loaf of bread, the toaster, pot holders and a few empty wrappers from the kids have to sit on the counter until the morning....well, I guess that is the way it has to be. I do get upset with the clutter, but when I feel my abs when I lean forward or the ache in my legs when I'm walking to the car on my way to work I can very quickly get over the clutter on my counter.

So if you have to leave the clutter, or fold the clothes later it's ok.....do it later. Leave the dishes in the sink, it is ok. They will get washed, the laundry will get folded and the floor will get swept. Most importantly, you will be doing these chores sweaty after you worked out! You will feel better with yourself and you won't be disappointed in yourself because you missed your workout!

So....keep up the good work, keep working out and leave those dishes in the sink!

Have a great Saturday!
Carrie :)

More then just Fitness. . .

There are times that I want to yell from the rooftop how EXCITED I am with what I have accomplished with my fitness while using Beachbodys P90X3 and Shakeology. It is so rewarding when you get to the point where your hard work is finally paying off. Even before my husband became a coach I would share with people what was working for me. Loving the products makes it easy to share with others naturally.

Before we joined the team I expected a few things...to discuss nutrition and exercise, but I never expected the support that you receive from the Beachbodys Team Passion. The training is amazing and the materials you need to learn and educate yourself far exceeded my expectations, but most of all..PERSONAL DEVELOPEMENT.

Personal development was not one of the 3 vital behaviors that I thought I would attach myself to as much as I have. My whole mindset has changed. My outlook on life is different and I can't quite explain it. I always thought of myself as a positive person, but I am learning that there is a lot more that goes into being Truly Positive. The personal development is helping me make different choices in all aspects of my life and will be part of my daily steps for success in general.

Being full-time working parents of four children and now sharing our love for Beachbody is going to be a journey for us, but we are excited to be part of this team and to help others start their journey. There are so many benefits to becoming a coach! FITNESS, NUTRITION, BEING on a TEAM, Becoming ACCOUNTALBE, MAKING it HAPPEN & GROWING as a PERSON!
